On invitation from the White House, I was among the more than 100 students, entrepreneurs, engineers, and researchers from 25 states — all of whom love to "Make" stuff to attend the first ever White House Maker Faire and witnessed President Obama declare June 18th as a National Day of Making through a proclamation. #NationofMakers

President Barak Obama speaking at the White House, check out the Youtube video. I think this comment stands out and brings forward the spirit of America - "Our parents and our grandparents created the world's largest economy and strongest middle class not by buying stuff, but by building stuff — by making stuff, by tinkering and inventing and building; by making and selling things first in a growing national market and then in an international market — stuff "Made in America." — President Barack Obama at the first-ever White House Maker Faire, June 18, 2014
I would like to thank the following individuals /organizations publicly:
1) Danielle Carpenter, Senior Policy Advisor, White House OSTP
You will probably see a lot of articles everywhere about this event at the White House. Personally I loved the 3D scanner project. This is really amazing and I can think of multiple different application of this technology in real life.
Also I was amazed at the voice Sculpture by Gilles Azzaro, who 3D printed Barak Obama's State of the Union address. Our voice consists of specific signatures and it was translated into 3D objects. It was amazing.
Also not to forget the Pancake Bot, I have already seen it at the Maker Faire - San Mateo and the concept amazes me everytime.
Also , I got to meet THE DALE DOUGHERTY, Founder and CEO of Maker Media Inc. and the highlight of my day was " I know you Shubham, and I have also seen your TV interviews - great job"
I also met the President of the Lego Group , Soren Torp Laursen. I can't thank the Lego Group enough for their inspiration and helpfulness and encouragement.
The best Business card that I have ever seen, is of-course from the Lego President. Check this out.
I cannot forget the meeting with Bill Nye - The Science guy.
I cannot forget the amazing environment at the White House, just before President Barak Obama addressed all of us.
I was fortunate to be part of History as President Barak Obama proclaimed that June 18th with be National Day of Making in the US and attending the first ever White House Maker Faire.
